Shabir Mohamed is the owner/operator of Atlantic Beach Tennis Center. Mohamed is one of the most recognized pros in the area. He has been head pro for more than 35 years at places such as Mill Basin and TennisTime/Sportime where he ran the largest children’s program on Long Island’s south shore.
Over the past four years, Mohamed also known as Mo, has turned around Atlantic Beach Tennis Center and has been instrumental in rejuvenating the tennis scene in Atlantic Beach. He has trained over thirty ranked USTA regional and sectional players, including NCAA singles women’s champion Bea Bielik. Mo has been certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association for more than 20 years.
There is nothing he loves more than to see a child grow into a true tennis player. Mo starts working with children from age 4 to up. Many of his students have become nationally ranked and professional players. Children focus on technique while developing skills, self confidence, endurance and a true understanding of the game.
